Add Myles Turner from Indiana Pacers
Indiana Pacers Receive: G Russell Westbrook, 2027 First-Round Pick (LAL), 2029 First-Round Pick (LAL)
Los Angeles Lakers Receive: C Myles Turner, G/F Buddy Hield
This deal has been floated about elsewhere on the internet. In fact, all of these deals have been. The Los Angeles Lakers have intriguing options, but they are also limited.
Rumors have suggested that this deal could be in the pipeline. It’s been suggested that the Pacers feel they should be receiving two first-round picks – one for the players they’re dealing, and one for absorbing Westbrook’s contract.
Forgive us for questioning their logic. Westbrook’s contract is expiring, so it shouldn’t be much of a detriment to a rebuilding Indiana team. In fact, one could argue that it’s an asset.
The Lakers should bite anyway. They’re in no position to negotiate. With LeBron James aging into retirement, they have an urgent need to win now.

This deal ought to help them do so. Turner’s 3-and-D skillset will be a perfect fit in a jumbo-sized frontcourt alongside Anthony Davis, while Buddy Hield’s floor spacing will do something Westbrook couldn’t – maximize LeBron James.
