Why The Charlotte Hornets Do The Deal
Again, the Charlotte Hornets are angling for a Miles Bridges replacement here. Julius Randle isn’t a perfect one, but he just might do.
Randle’s not as athletic, but he’s probably more skilled. He is certainly a better passer. In fact, his combined playmaking with LaMelo Ball could give the Hornets one of the least predictable attacks in the NBA.
Meanwhile, the Hornets don’t have a lot of avenues for improvement. Without Bridges, this roster gets uninspiring pretty quickly behind Ball. Here, the Hornets land a player who’s at least a capable second option in Randle.
Realistically, they’ll be banking on him edging closer to his 2020-21 form than he was able to last year. Randle may never get there again – his elite three-point shooting over that season feels like an outlier.
