Why The Utah Jazz Do The Deal
Realistically, the Utah Jazz will be rebuilding upon trading Mitchell no matter who they acquire. With that in mind, they’re essentially trading Mitchell for Hachimura, Avdija, Kispert, and draft capital here.
In other words, they’ll do the deal depending on their valuation of those players. For what it’s worth, they each bring valuable skills to their organization. Hachimura may have the most star upside: he hasn’t reached those heights yet, but his late start in basketball and natural athletic gifts make him a good candidate to be a late bloomer.
Meanwhile, Avdija has already established himself as a quality rotation player. He’s a versatile defender who provides a semblance of floor-spacing as well.
On the other hand, Corey Kispert was disappointing from three-point range in his rookie year, but his accurate shooting from midrange hinted at quality floor-spacing down the road.

On the other hand, the Jazz are still getting a fair amount of draft capital here. Two first-round picks and two swaps are good value provided that they’re also high on the players they’re getting back here.
Should the Wizards really be parting with all that just to bring Mitchell in?
