Why The Dallas Mavericks Do The Deal
Luka Doncic needs help. There is, simply put, no way around that.
Jaylen Brown would be a tremendous boon. Granted, he’s not exactly the secondary ball-handler some may envision alongside Doncic. In fact, ball-handling is arguably Brown’s only weakness. Scoring, on the other hand, is his forte.
Brown commands a double team on the perimeter. With that said, double-teaming anyone on Luka Doncic’s team is a dicey proposition. More often than not, it’s best to maximize the coverage you can afford to Doncic.
Furthermore, Brown’s two-way excellence would be a perfect complement for Doncic. After all, defense has not been his strong suit throughout his career.

Brown can cover for him on that end while providing him with an ideal co-star on the offensive end. That sounds like a solid way for the Mavericks to advance even further in the 2022-23 postseason.
