Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks were hit hard in free agency by the loss of Jalen Brunson signing with the New York Knicks. The two franchises may not have the best relationship right now, but Derrick Rose would present a good trade target for the Mavericks.
Dallas needs to fill the void left by Brunson’s departure. While Tim Hardaway Jr. returning from injury will help, they are very thin when it comes to ball handlers. With Spencer Dinwiddie projected to start, the only player behind him and Luka Doncic is Frank Ntilikina.
While Ntilikina has proven he can be a great defender, he leaves a lot to be desired offensively, especially as a playmaker. He can soak up some minutes as a backup, but should an injury occur, the Dallas Mavericks would be in trouble.
While he has some injury concerns of his own, Derrick Rose would provide great insurance for the Dallas Mavericks in their backcourt.

Rose can bring that scoring punch that Brunson did, as he has become a reliable 3-point shooter as well later on in his career. Rose is also still a solid distributor and can play alongside Doncic, just as Brunson did.
