New York Knicks Receive: G Donovan Mitchell

Let’s be completely honest: Mitchell is likely to end up in a Knicks uniform in 2022-23.

The writing appears to be on the wall. Few teams have as many draft picks to offer as the Knicks. Meanwhile, any teams with a competitive package are less likely to acquire Mitchell.

The Thunder aren’t ready to cash in their chips, and the Pelicans are probably not a great fit for him.

In all likelihood, these teams are haggling over draft capital. The Jazz will seek up to seven unprotected picks. That’s an unreasonable price, but they’re negotiating. Meanwhile, the Knicks are probably countering with four.
