Dallas Mavericks: Do they need a secondary ball-handler?
It’s strictly an alphabetical coincidence, but we’ll be typing Sexton’s name again in this section. The Mavericks should at least entertain adding him.
If not Sexton, this roster wants for a second offensive option behind Luka Doncic. As gifted as he is, he could use some help. Generally speaking, we’ve seen that, throughout history, a one-man band always has a hard time drowning out an opposing ensemble.
Denver Nuggets: Can they stay healthy?
Granted, we’re cheating a little here. There’s nothing the Nuggets can do to influence their own health.
Yet, no other questions emerge. The Nuggets already traded for a much-needed 3-and-D wing in Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Realistically, their entire season rests on the rehabilitation of Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr.
Detroit Pistons: Are they ready for the play-in?
The Detroit Pistons had an impressive draft night. In acquiring Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren, they landed two prospects who could have been selected in the top 10. If these pieces coalesce quickly, this rebuild could be effectively over.
The Pistons should push for the play-in this season. If they make it, they can add veterans next summer in a bid to switch into win-now mode. If they fall short, they’ll get another crack at premiere talent in the 2023 draft.
Golden State Warriors: Should they trade the young guns?
The Golden State Warriors are fresh off of an NBA championship run. By virtue of that fact, they don’t have to do anything. Still, this core is aging. Shipping some combination of Jonathan Kuminga, James Wiseman or Moses Moody off could bring in a significant win-now contributor – at the expense of the future, of course.

Houston Rockets: Can they get a first-round pick for Eric Gordon?
In reading the tea leaves around the Houston Rockets, there doesn’t seem to be an urgent desire to trade Eric Gordon. If the organization values him as a mentor for their young roster, that’s sensible enough.
Valuing his presence over an unprotected first-round pick, on the other hand, may not be defensible.

Indiana Pacers: Which Myles Turner package to choose?
We can assume the Indiana Pacers have offers out there for Myles Turner. After all, 3-and-D big men do not grow on trees. Furthermore, having tendered Deandre Ayton a max offer, it’s clear that they’re willing to move on from Turner.
As a rebuilding team, they should do exactly that this summer. The only question is which package to accept?
