Atlanta Hawks: Do they need more spacing?

The Atlanta Hawks broke the bank to acquire Dejounte Murray this summer, sending the Spurs three first-round picks. It was certainly a talent upgrade, but Murray’s fit alongside franchise point guard Trae Young is questionable. Murray is an extremely well-rounded player, but shooting is the only hole in his game.

Should the Hawks target an elite shooter, or a stretch big, to mitigate those concerns?

Boston Celtics: Should they target a star?

The Boston Celtics have already had a great off-season. They just made the NBA Finals and landed Malcolm Brogdon in an effort to fix the lack of ball-handling that doomed them once they get there. They could stand pat and do nothing, but some combination of Al Horford’s contract, Grant Williams, and draft picks could get them in the conversation for some of the potentially available star players.

Brooklyn Nets: Where do they go from here?

If you can’t think of some of the questions the Nets are facing, you’re making an odd habit of reading about the NBA. Clearly, you don’t follow it.

Will the Nets trade Kevin Durant? For that matter, what about Ben Simmons? Can they get any value for Kyrie Irving? At the moment, the Nets’ summer is really just one big question.

Charlotte Hornets: Do they still need a starting big?

The Hornets were widely expected to go after a big man this summer. Eventually, they drafted one, selecting Duke’s Mark Williams with the 15th overall pick. Can a rookie really satiate their need for an interior presence, or should they go after Myles Turner, Jakob Poeltl, or another potentially available star?

Chicago Bulls: Is Vucevic the answer?

The Chicago Bulls had a decent 2021-22 season, but surely they’d like to build on it. The easiest path to improvement for this team probably comes on the defensive end.

That’s not Nikola Vucevic’s calling card. Meanwhile, he is a gifted inside scorer, but alongside Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan, he’s mostly relegated to stretch five duties (and last year, he wasn’t even able to fill them). Would this club do well to go get a better defensive big?

Cleveland Cavaliers: Retain Collin Sexton?

Identifying a question for the Cavaliers wasn’t hard. They only have one major one, but it’s glaring.

Collin Sexton has flashed star potential. Yet, he’s reported to have a very small market as a restricted free agent. Should Cleveland try to engineer a sign-and-trade, or bring Sexton back ahead of 2022-23?
