3. Jaylen Brown

The Boston Celtics aren’t going to make any drastic moves this offseason. They are coming off a defeat at the hands of the Golden State Warriors in the 2022 NBA Finals and have one of the stronger rosters in the NBA. They are expected to contend once again during the 2022-23 season and improved with their acquisition of Malcolm Brogdon and the signing of Danilo Gallinari.

However, if they are unable to get over the hump this next season, they could look to make some changes to the roster next summer. That change could involve chasing after another star they believe may better fit alongside Jayson Tatum, who seems to be their franchise cornerstone. In that scenario, it would likely be Jaylen Brown involved in a trade.

Jaylen Brown has one All-Star game appearance under his belt and will be only 26 years old in October. He can be the centerpiece of pretty much any deal that brings back another star to Boston.

A break-up of their young All-Star duo is something that has been floated previously, but that was before the team figured things out and made a deep run in the playoffs. A big move won’t happen before the next offseason, but it will be something to keep an eye on.

For now, Boston has to be happy with where they are positioned. But, if they take a step back during the 2022-23 season, they could look to re-evaluate the roster and make some changes. If more than adjustments on the margin are sought after, Jaylen Brown could be on his way out of town.
