New York Knicks Receive: G Coby White
Chicago Bulls Receive: G/F Cam Reddish
This Chicago Bulls deal only makes sense for the New York Knicks if: (1.) They know that Tom Thibodeau will not be a part of the team’s future. (2.) They don’t deal for Donovan Mitchell
With Spida and Brunson on board, the Knicks would have no use for Coby White, even if Derrick Rose is moved to the Utah Jazz or is routed elsewhere in the same deal or a separate one.
But if New York is unable to trade for Mitchell, Coby White is a decent consolation prize, especially for a player that couldn’t crack their rotation last year.
White does a lot of the things that Spida does, just to a much smaller degree and in a much less efficient manner. Still only 22 years old, though, the University of North Carolina product has yet to reach his ceiling. He also happened to hit career-high marks in both field goal and 3-point percentage at 43 and 39 percent respectively.

He likely wouldn’t get much floor time under Thibs considering his inability to get stops on defense, but if New York moves on from their coach, White would be a nice addition to their young core. He has the swagger and the scoring penchant to grow into a star one day and could blossom playing under the bright lights of Madison Square Garden.
