Recent reports indicate that the Utah Jazz are seeking seven unprotected first-round picks for Mitchell. In other words, General Manager Danny Ainge is as ambitious as he ever was.

They won’t get that kind of haul. It’s unheard of. In all likelihood, the Jazz will have to settle on a package like this one.

It still sets them up for the future in a major way. Four unprotected picks and a swap is the type of package you get for a superstar. The quality of the picks, on the other hand, may vary.

For that reason, the Memphis Grizzlies’ 2023 pick holds extra value here. We already mentioned that next season, even with Mitchell, probably won’t be a banner year for the club. They should be good, but at the same time, it could take Morant and Mitchell a fair portion of the year to figure each other out.
