Recent reports suggest that the Utah Jazz are seeking up to 7 first-round picks in exchange for Donovan Mitchell.

That’s quite the ask. Granted, Mitchell is a 25-year-old star player. Still, 7 unprotected first-rounders would be the largest haul of draft capital in league history.

It’s probably not realistic. The Jazz should settle for four first-round picks and Herb Jones instead.

After all, Jones garnered serious All-Defensive consideration as a rookie. That’s practically unheard of. It’s fair to say that he’s as valuable as any non-lottery first-round pick is likely to be.
