The Los Angeles Lakers are going to turn over every stone when it comes to attempting to upgrade their roster. They made the most of what they had in NBA free agency, signing Lonnie Walker IV, Damian Jones, Troy Brown Jr., Juan Toscano-Anderson and Thomas Bryant.
That will greatly improve the depth on the roster compared to what they had last season, but the Lakers are far from finished. If they want to have any chance of turning things around and competing during the 2022-23 season, they need to make more moves. The trade market is where Los Angeles has been active and will continue to be in the coming weeks.
Rumors have swirled about their interest in Kyrie Irving, but they could switch their focus if they believe the Brooklyn Nets aren’t going to seriously consider trading him. Eric Gordon of the Houston Rockets has been mentioned as another potential trade target.
The Indiana Pacers are another team to keep an eye on when it comes to the Lakers making a trade. There are a lot of different deals that could be made with them, as Los Angeles does have interest in Buddy Hield. If things were to be expanded, Myles Turner is another player that the purple and gold would have interest in.
As Adrian Wojnarowski shared during a phone interview with Jim Rome on CBS Sports Network, Turner is someone that is appealing to the Lakers as a trade target.
It is easy to see what the Lakers would like so much about Turner as his skill set fits perfectly into what the team needs. If they are unable to move Russell Westbrook, there needs to be as much spacing as possible in the lineup. Turner is a very good stretch-five and would help keep things open on offense.

Defensively, Turner is an elite rim protector. Combined with Anthony Davis, they would make life difficult for opponents trying to score in the paint. His presence at the center position would also enable the Lakers to play Davis at power forward for a majority of his minutes, which he would prefer.
While Myles Turner isn’t mentioned as often as other trade targets that the Lakers have been linked to, he is someone that would fit in very well in Los Angeles.
