Indiana Pacers Receive: G Russell Westbrook, 2026 First-Round Pick, 2028 First-Round Pick

This first trade package is the most straightforward one. The same framework has been discussed for months involving the Los Angeles Lakers, and Indiana Pacers, except the players involved have changed a little bit.

Before being traded to the Boston Celtics, a rumored package involved Malcolm Brogdon coming to the Lakers to match salary in return for Westbrook. Instead of him, Myles Turner and Buddy Hield are heading to Los Angeles.

On his own, the Pacers were looking to fetch a nice return for Turner. But, given the foot injury he suffered during the season and is now on an expiring deal, the asking price has come down a little bit. The other first-rounder being used in this deal is for a combination of things. Any team taking on Russell Westbrook wants to be compensated, which is understandable. When you add to that, getting a shooter of Buddy Hield’s caliber, a second first-round pick is fair compensation.
