The Houston Rockets are a team that people need to keep an eye on when discussing moves in the future. They are clearly rebuilding right now, but they won’t be forever. Eventually, they will be looking for players to add to their young core and help move this rebuild forward.
Their roster is littered with young players with a ton of upside, led by Jalen Green and Jabari Smith Jr. Finding a long-term point guard is likely near the top of their list, as the Kevin Porter Jr. experiment has yielded mixed results. Not far behind on that list is likely a wing player.
In the positionless NBA having long, versatile wing players is key. The Houston Rockets have some athletes, but small forward is likely their weakest position. Eric Gordon is masquerading as one in their starting lineup, but he is better suited for playing the shooting guard spot.
Andrew Wiggins is someone to keep an eye on when it comes to the Houston Rockets. While not a perfect fit for their timeline, Wiggins isn’t old by any means.

At 27 years old, he could be someone that the team acquires to help push them to that next level. He is young enough that he can be a core member of the team for years to come as well.
The championship experience he gained playing with the Warriors is something the Houston Rockets would greatly benefit from as well as they are a very young group outside of Gordon. He is 33, outside of him, the oldest player in their rotation very well could be 26-year-old Jae’Sean Tate.
