The 2022 NBA offseason has seen a ton of player movement. Even before things got going during the 2022 NBA Draft, there were already trades being announced and very good players on the move.
Jerami Grant was traded from the Detroit Pistons to the Portland Trail Blazers, a deal that had been rumored for months and finally made official. The Dallas Mavericks made an upgrade at the center position, acquiring Christian Wood from the Houston Rockets.
There was no shortage of deals during the draft, as the New York Knicks made two alone. They traded the No. 11 overall pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder for three future first-round picks. Then they were involved in a three-team deal with the Charlotte Hornets and Detroit Pistons that was facilitated on their part to move Kemba Walker’s contract.
That wasn’t the only salary slashing move they made, as they conducted a second trade with the Pistons. This time, it was Alec Burks and Nerlens Noel on the move to the Motor City, along with two second-round picks and $6 million.
Two 2022 NBA All-Stars were also traded this offseason. Dejounte Murray was traded by the San Antonio Spurs, who are entering a rebuild, to the Atlanta Hawks. Three unprotected first-round picks, a pick swap and Danilo Gallinari, who was subsequently waived, were traded to the Spurs.

That package pales in comparison to what the Minnesota Timberwolves paid to land Rudy Gobert from the Utah Jazz. Minnesota sent five players, three unprotected picks, a top-five protected pick and one pick swap to the Jazz for the three-time Defensive Player of the Year.
We could see even more All-Stars on the move before training camp gets underway in September. Where could these players end up?
Let’s make some predictions on where the likes of Donovan Mitchell, Kevin Durant and Jakob Poeltl will end up.
