Why The Phoenix Suns Do The Deal
The Phoenix Suns’ backcourt duo of Chris Paul and Devin Booker is one of the most talented in the NBA. That’s a large part of how they’ve been so successful over the past few years.
The pair aren’t only talented, they’re entirely synergistic. In fact, that’s often been the value of rostering Chris Paul. He’s a masterful point guard on the ball, but he’s also a devastating off-ball threat. One could say almost the inverse of Booker.
Unfortunately, the guard depth behind them has left much to be desired. Cam Payne is an NBA player, but he’s not necessarily an inspiring option. Eric Gordon would be an upgrade.
He’s a better floor-spacer and finisher. Additionally, he’s a more dependable defensive player. Furthermore, Paul has experience playing alongside Gordon (ironically, on the Houston Rockets).

Gordon would likely be this team’s sixth man, but he can also man the 3 in three-guard lineups alongside Paul and Booker. His versatility and portability will make him a perfect fit with these Suns.
