The New York Knicks have had a great NBA offseason thus far. They addressed their biggest need, finally landing a point guard in Jalen Brunson. They also added a versatile center to the mix with Isaiah Hartenstein.
There could be even more moves on the horizon for the Knicks, who have already made three trades this offseason. None of those deals resulted in any players coming to the team, as they cleared cap space to spend in free agency and added some draft capital as well.
That draft capital could be used to build a blockbuster trade package as the Knicks have been mentioned as the favorites to land Donovan Mitchell from the Utah Jazz as Utah looks ready to enter a rebuild. Even if that deal doesn’t come to fruition, the Knicks are not done making moves.
As things are currently situated, they have 11 players worthy of rotation minutes and that doesn’t even include the recently signed Jericho Sims or Deuce McBride. Some consolidation is certainly needed whether they land Mitchell or not.
LATEST NBA NEWS AND RUMORS: 3 Creative New York Knicks Julius Randle Trades You Haven’t Thought Of Yet
One player that has been mentioned in trade rumors is Julius Randle. Randle struggled with his shot during the 2021-22 season, which is partly why the team plummeted back to Earth after a successful 2020-21 season.
Randle was an All-Star and All-NBA Second Team member as the Knicks earned the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference. This season, he wasn’t close to replicating that success and the Knicks finished in 11th place.
While his value isn’t nearly as high, they could extract some value for him given he is only a season removed from such a high level of play. Where could he end up? Let’s take a look at three intriguing trade destinations for Randle.
