Could there actually be two MVPs traded this offseason? Kevin Durant’s trade request to the Brooklyn Nets for a trade has dominated basketball headlines the last few weeks, but he isn’t the only MVP looking to get moved in the NBA.

Vasilije Micic, the EuroLeague MVP, is also looking to get traded this offseason and is generating significant interest around the NBA. Right now, the Oklahoma City Thunder own his rights, but he doesn’t fit their timeline as he is 28 years old. They are also set in the backcourt with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey.

As a result, he could very well be on the move in the coming weeks. Vasilije Micic is hoping to make the jump from overseas this offseason should a team acquire his rights and sign him to a contract. Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN shared the update.

Micic was actually drafted in the second round of the 2014 NBA Draft when he was 20 years old by the Philadelphia 76ers. They traded his draft rights to the Thunder on December 8th, 2020 and could very well be on the move again.

Standing 6’5”, Micic possesses excellent size for a point guard, as he should be capable of defending either backcourt spot. He is looking for a significant role in a rotation, as teams contending for a playoff spot with minutes available in their backcourt should consider making a run at him.

The Dallas Mavericks, who lost Jalen Brunson and could use another ball-handler, would make some sense, especially after Luka Doncic said he hopes more moves are on the horizon. The Washington Wizards could use some help at point guard even after acquiring Monte Morris in a trade. The New Orleans Pelicans would make for an intriguing landing spot as well.
