Philadelphia 76ers fans hoping for a blockbuster return for Matisse Thybulle should brace for disappointment. After all, it’s a three-point dominant league, etc, etc…

Still, Terence Davis would be a nice fit for this roster. Granted, he’s not an elite floor-spacer either, but he’s still proven significantly more reliable than Thybulle. Furthermore, he makes up a portion of Thybulle’s defense as well.

Meanwhile, the Kings may or may not have more use for Thybulle than the Sixers do. On the one hand, they’ve got a similar win-now impetus. Having traded Tyrese Haliburton for Domantas Sabonis prior to the 2021-22 trade deadline, they need to break their NBA-record 16-season playoff drought this year.

On the other hand, their 114.8 Defensive Rating ranked 27th in the NBA last year. Thybulle at least offers immediate help in that respect. Furthermore, the Kings merely have playoff aspirations relative to the Sixers’ championship dreams.
