The New York Knicks have been a very active team this NBA offseason. Looking to open cap space for free agency they have completed several trades to move on from some veterans on the roster.
First, it was Kemba Walker getting sent to the Detroit Pistons in a three-team deal that also included the Charlotte Hornets.
New York also flipped the No. 11 overall pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder for three future first-round picks. Right before free agency got underway, the Knicks traded Alec Burks and Nerlens Noel to the Pistons as well for two second-round picks and $6 million.
That opened up the cap space necessary to sign Jalen Brunson to a deal in free agency. Their mid-level exception was used partly on Isaiah Hartenstein to bolster their frontcourt rotation as well.

But, no one expects the New York Knicks to be done making moves. While the league is in a holding pattern waiting to see what happens with Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets, many people expect New York to make at least one more move.
Right now they have 11 players that are worthy of receiving rotation minutes. That has to change before the regular season as there aren’t enough minutes to hand out. Could Cam Reddish be on the move?
Reddish was acquired by the Knicks last season from the Atlanta Hawks for Kevin Knox and a future first-round pick. He struggled to break into the rotation and after he did, injured his shoulder, ending his season prematurely.

He has been someone involved in trade rumors, as the Los Angeles Lakers tried acquiring him ahead of the deadline. This offseason, the Miami Heat have emerged as a potential trade suitor.
“I would assume the Knicks are picking up the phone on calls that they get,” Begley told Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer, per SI in Miami. “I do know that Miami is among the teams that has spoken to the Knicks about Reddish specifically.”

The Heat could certainly use an infusion of talent on the roster after losing P.J. Tucker in free agency to the Philadelphia 76ers. While it was a small sample size, Reddish did show that he can fill in for some minutes in the frontcourt while possessing prototypical two-way, 3-and-D size on the wing.
While Cam Reddish has yet to live up to expectations as the No. 10 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, he is oozing with potential. If the Miami Heat is willing to trade a future first-round pick, enabling the New York Knicks to recoup what they traded for him, a deal could be made.
