In the NBA, players are often faced with a quandy. Should they chase rings, or remain loyal to the franchise that drafted them?
Frankly, it’s unfair. We, as fans, judge the players by several metrics. We judge them for forcing their way off of mediocre teams while they’re playing, but if they don’t win a championship, we judge them for that when they retire. Effectively, we’re wedging them between a rock and a hard place.
Donovan Mitchell might be feeling that squeeze. On the one hand, he’s only 25 years old. If he wanted to give the Utah Jazz time to retool around him, he’s go prime years to spare.
On the other hand, could we blame him for seeking a more competitive environment? The Jazz just got a great haul from the Minnesota Timberwolves for Rudy Gobert, but much of it was future-focused.

If he sees it the same way and makes a trade request, here are three deals we think the Jazz should consider.
