In 2022, almost every team needs a stretch big man. With that said, some have a more pressing need for that player type than others.
In all likelihood, no team in the league could use one like the Nets.
That’s because they roster Ben Simmons. He is, notoriously, an absolute non-spacer. As a lead ball-handler, that can be deeply problematic in the modern NBA.
With that said, having a big man who stretches the floor at least mitigates those concerns. With the Nets on the verge of collapse, those concerns take on an added significance. If this team enters 2022-23 with neither Kevin Durant nor Kyrie Irving, they’ll likely prominently feature Simmons on offense.
