The Brooklyn Nets are engaged in a multitude of trade discussions with teams around the NBA. Virtually every player on their roster is available following Kevin Durant’s request to be traded.
All of the focus will be put on him and Kyrie Irving, as they are the biggest stars on the team. The chances are slim that they are packaged together, but the situations are fluid and you never really know what will happen, but the Nets will do their due diligence with every scenario.
One of the teams that they have been engaged with in trade talks involving Irving is the Los Angeles Lakers. They seem to be the only team with any real interest in bringing in the mercurial point guard, as LeBron James wants to team up with him again.
Russell Westbrook would likely be involved in such a deal to help match salary. There have been other players involved in those trade talks, including sharpshooting wing, Joe Harris. It was reported that the Lakers were pushing to acquire Seth Curry instead, while Brooklyn wanted to move Harris.

However, a recent update directly contradicts the report of the Brooklyn Nets wanting to trade Harris. In fact, they don’t want to move on from Harris at all according to the New York Post.
“I know the Nets absolutely do not want to trade Joe under any scenario,” a league source familiar with Brooklyn’s thinking told The Post. “But there are just thousands of different ways this can play out.”
With everything so fluid right now, there will be some posturing from both sides. If it is being reported that the Nets don’t want to move on from Harris, they could extract a little more value in a return package by parting ways with a player that they want to keep.

Joe Harris is one of the best 3-point shooters in the NBA, connecting on 43.9 percent of his attempts in his career. He has led the league in 3-point shooting percentage twice in his career and would be a perfect fit alongside James and Anthony Davis should he end up with the Lakers.
