2. Charlotte Hornets
The Charlotte Hornets came into the offseason looking to upgrade their center position. They have not yet done that, but they are engaged in some trade talks with teams around the league to accomplish that goal.
Another sneaky need for the Hornets is in the backcourt. They have a star in LaMelo Ball to build around as their starting point guard and Terry Rozier next to him, who signed an extension. Capable of also playing point guard, Steve Clifford could always stagger their minutes.
However, the Hornets could use some more help, especially at point guard. Dennis Schroder could be a great fit for them off the bench. They could use a backup point guard as they lacked one after trading Ish Smith to the Washington Wizards.
Schroder would provide the Hornets’ second unit with some scoring punch, someone that is more than capable of running the show whenever Ball needs a rest. While there won’t be an opportunity to start in Charlotte, given how his market has unfolded the last two times he has been a free agent, he likely can’t be picky about his role.

Signing with the Charlotte Hornets would present Schroder with a chance to be the sixth man again, which he has thrived in, should intrigue him.
