Reports are beginning to become mixed on what the Brooklyn Nets are going to do with former NBA MVP Kevin Durant. Durant requested a trade from the organization last week and even has a list of preferred landing spots, but the Nets are not obligated to honor that request.
Brooklyn will take their time and do their due diligence when it comes to negotiating a deal. Durant isn’t the only player that is involved in trade chatter, as Kyrie Irving, Joe Harris and Seth Curry have also seen their name in some rumors.
But, none of those guys will be on the move before Durant unless it is included in a package with him. There will be a lot of moving parts when it comes to a trade involving him, as it could be a multi-team trade so Brooklyn can receive all that they are seeking in a deal.
Now there are even some reports floating around that the Nets could be preparing to have Durant and Irving on the team heading into the 2022-23 season. That would certainly be a surprise given what has occurred the last few days, but unless the Nets get everything they want, they have no incentive to trade either player.

Trade talks will still be held even if the Nets are content with keeping both players. That could be a ploy by the Nets to have other teams increase their trade offers if they do not like the packages they are currently receiving.
During an appearance on ESPN, Adrian Wojnarowski once again mentioned the Toronto Raptors as a team to keep an eye on when it comes to Durant. In his opinion, they are the easiest team to make a trade with.
According to Wojnarowski, the most seamless trade for Brooklyn is with Toronto. They would have the least complicated deal because their offer likely won’t require a third or fourth team getting involved.
Some combination of Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet, Gary Trent Jr., OG Anunoby and Scotte Barnes Jr. can be used to build the centerpiece of the deal. The Raptors can also put together the kind of draft capital that the Nets are seeking in a deal, as well.

Any combination of those players would help keep the Brooklyn Nets competitive, which is one of their goals during these trade negotiations. But, if Brooklyn is dead set on acquiring more draft capital than Toronto is allowed to trade away, they will have to get another team involved in the negotiations.
