3. Will Jazz Go Full-On Rebuild?
The Utah Jazz has undergone some major changes throughout the entirety of its organization. Ownership has changed and the front office had some adjustments as well. This offseason, it was the court-level happenings that were undergoing changes.
Quin Snyder, who was the third longest-tenured head coach in the league behind Gregg Popovich of the San Antonio Spurs and Erik Spoelstra with the Miami Heat, stepped down from his position. He was replaced by Will Hardy, a Boston Celtics assistant.
The roster was purged as well. Royce O’Neale was traded to the Brooklyn Nets for a 2023 first-round pick. The biggest trade of the offseason thus far was also made by Utah, as they traded three-time Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Jazz acquired a boatload of draft picks in those deals, as the Gobert deal landed them four alone, five if you count Walker Kessler, who was the No. 22 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft two weeks ago.
