Many anticipated the Jazz would spend their summer navigating what appeared to have become a tumultuous relationship between Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert. The organization didn’t waste time: Gobert is now on the Timberwolves.

Still, the return they received for the 3x Defensive Player of the Year left us with more questions than answers. They received three quality players in Jarred Vanderbilt, Patrick Beverley, and Malik Beasley. Yet, their combined on-court impact is unlikely to match Gobert’s.

That’s exactly why the Jazz received a whopping four first-round picks in addition to those players. The Jazz got great value for Gobert, but now, they’re at a crossroads.
