There are several players available that can still help upgrade a team’s rotation for the 2022-23 season. These are four of the more intriguing options that have yet to find a team to play with.

Dennis Schroder

Best Landing Spot: Dallas Mavericks

Dennis Schroder is most known for turning down a reported four-year deal worth more than $80 million from the Los Angeles Lakers to hit free agency. He was met with an ice-cold market, as he eventually signed a one-year, $5.9 million deal with the Boston Celtics.

Schroder was traded to the Houston Rockets at the deadline and is once again looking for a new team. He will land with the Dallas Mavericks as a cheaper option to help replace Jalen Brunson, who joined the New York Knicks.

Caleb Martin

Best Landing Spot: Miami Heat

Caleb Martin was an integral part of the Miami Heat rotation during the 2021-22 season. He appeared in 60 games in the regular season, connecting on 41.3 percent of his 3-point attempts and providing the team with some good perimeter defense.

Martin struggled in the postseason, but he has proven to be too important to let go. Once the dust settles on the Kevin Durant situation, as the Heat is one of his preferred landing spots, Martin will remain in South Beach and re-sign.

Camelo Anthony

Best Landing Spot: New York Knicks

Carmelo Anthony was one of the few bright spots for the Los Angeles Lakers last season. They are also engaged in trade negotiations and would likely bring him back to round out the roster. If they decide to move on, he could end up back with the New York Knicks, but only if Julius Randle is traded this offseason.

Thomas Bryant

Best Landing Spot: Los Angeles Lakers

Thomas Bryant was coming into his own during the 2020-21 season before he tore his ACL. He worked his way back, appearing in 27 games last season and makes for a very intriguing target as a reserve big man. Turning 25 years old later in July, he has time to continue developing and rounding out his skill set.

With his unicorn skill set as a 3-point shooter and shot-blocker, Bryant will make for a shrewd signing for a team short on cap space but having a void in the middle. A contending team will win the Bryant sweepstakes and it will be a familiar team to him, as the Los Angeles Lakers will land him, persuading him with a prominent rotation spot.
