Collin Sexton
Best Landing Spots: Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks
There hasn’t been much discussion about Collin Sexton thus far in free agency. Like many restricted free agents, his market is a little slower to develop as teams don’t want to tie up their funds waiting to see if their offer sheet will be matched.
He will likely have to wait even longer now that teams are focused on trying to acquire Kevin Durant from the Brooklyn Nets. The league’s landscape is going to change drastically and teams will have to adjust accordingly.
There have been a few teams mentioned as potential landing spots for Sexton, who missed all but 11 games last season after tearing his meniscus. But, during the 2020-21 season when he was healthy, he averaged 23.4 points per game.
The No. 8 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft will re-sign with the Cavaliers, providing them a scoring punch that they were sometimes lacking last season. The Detroit Pistons were a suitor for him entering the offseason, but after they selected Jaden Ivey with the No. 5 overall pick, they no longer need Sexton’s services. The Indiana Pacers no longer appear to be in the mix either.

The Dallas Mavericks, who need a replacement for Jalen Brunson, would also make sense for Sexton. Sexton is a dynamic scoring guard and the Cleveland Cavaliers would love to bring him back. After agreeing to a deal with Ricky Rubio to bring him back, the team will do the same with Sexton.
