Lakers, Mavs, Sixers Among Kyrie Irving Suitors To Watch

Kyrie Irving, Brooklyn Nets, NBA Trade Rumors
NBA Analysis Network

The Brooklyn Nets are in the midst of handing a Kevin Durant trade request and moving on from Kyrie Irving for a favorable return. The whole NBA is fixated on what Durant will end up going for given the historic nature of a superstar being signed for four years and being available.

Irving is still a name to pay close attention to on the trade market. He’s become one of the most polarizing stars in the NBA due to the high-profile nature of the collapse of the Nets organization after having championship aspirations.

According to Shams Charania, Kyrie Irving is a name to watch as being moved within the next few weeks with the Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers, and Dallas Mavericks being among teams to monitor as suitors.

“Kyrie Irving has several suitors involved Lakers, Sixers & Mavericks, keep an eye out in the next couple of weeks.”

The Los Angeles Lakers have been the most frequently linked team in trade talks given it’s where he wants to play and he is on an expiring salary. If a team he doesn’t want to play for acquires him, they would be getting a one-year rental with the risk of losing him for nothing.

It’s worth mentioning that when Irving provided the Brooklyn Nets with his list of preferred destinations in the event of a sign-and-trade, the Dallas Mavericks and Philadelphia 76ers were included. Given the departure of Jalen Brunson to the New York Knicks, there is a clear case for the Mavs to get aggressive in pursuit of a deal.

There isn’t as clear of a case for the 76ers when considering James Harden’s time with the Nets didn’t end well because of Irving. Philadelphia also has Tyrese Maxey signed on a rookie contract and he’s still progressing in his development.
