Why The Chicago Bulls Do The Deal
The Chicago Bulls would be attracted to the idea of a 2-for-1 here. They may be losing the best player in the trade, but they’re getting back two solid rotation pieces.
Nunn makes up a pretty large portion of White’s output. He may not have the same impressive positional size, but his offensive production throughout his career so far has been comparable.
Taking a slight downgrade at the guard position to add Johnson is a smart move for this team. He’s exactly the type of wing defender they need. Furthermore, between Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso, and the presumably returning Zach LaVine, the guard rotation is getting crowded in the Windy City.
This deal won’t break the internet. Coby White won’t fix the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Bulls may have larger aspirations this summer than Kendrick Nunn and Stanley Johnson.

With that said, these teams could each improve incrementally following this trade. Sometimes, it’s about taking that first step in the right direction.
