James Harden Takes A Discount
James Harden has accomplished almost everything one can in an NBA career. He’s a former scoring champion, assists leader, and MVP.
Still, there’s one goal he’s failed to accomplish, and it casts a long shadow. After all, some would argue it’s the most important goal of all.
Harden is not an NBA champion. At 32, the clock is ticking. His current Philadelphia 76ers give him as strong a chance to achieve that goal as he’s had during his tenure in the NBA.
Still, this group needs solid role players to get them over the edge. If Harden signs for the type of supermax money he’s eligible for, they’ll have a hard time adding them.

On the other hand, if he takes the discount that many expect him to, they’ll have the cap space for the solid role players they’ll need to win.
Look for him to do exactly that this summer.
Prediction: James Harden signs a short-term deal worth roughly $30 million annually
