There have been plenty of mixed messages surrounding the Toronto Raptors’ young wing, OG Anunoby. It was rumored earlier this NBA offseason that the University of Indiana product wants a larger role on the team, something that Toronto is either unable or unwilling to grant him.
The divide over Anunoby usage and future with the organization has led to him reportedly being listed as available in trades. And yet, despite Jake Fischer from Bleacher Report’s insistence that he had the inside track and heard rumblings that an OG trade was at least semi-realistic, there were plenty of reports going the other way, as well.
Recently before that, HoopsHype reported that Anunoby was virtually untouchable and would require a king’s ransom in any potential deal.
It’s become increasingly clear that the Raptors are at least entertaining trade proposals for the wing, though. Allegedly, Toronto and the Portland Trail Blazers are engaged in conversations in a swap revolving around OG and Portland’s seventh-overall pick.

The latest word now from Fischer, however, is that Anunoby is available but only for a very specific price:
It’s been no secret that the Toronto Raptors have been in the hunt for a starting-level center, perhaps the only real hole left in their roster. While Rudy Gobert could certainly be had for the right price, targeting Jarrett Allen seems like a move out of left field, although the Cleveland Cavaliers do have his replacement already in-house in rookie sensation Evan Mobley.
Would the Raptors view Jalen Duren as an elite center should he be available with the seventh pick? Regardless of whether Anunoby is traded tonight for Portland’s pick or something else, one thing remains clear after Fischer’s report: OG can be had for a certain price.

Perhaps it will be in a blockbuster for Rudy Gobert. Or maybe in a sign-and-trade deal for the Phoenix Suns’ Deandre Ayton. Regardless, there should be no more talk that Anunoby is untouchable in any sense of the word.
