Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics roster does not need much tweaking this offseason. They did a wonderful job the second half of the season and rode that momentum all the way into the 2022 NBA Finals. While they came up short against the Golden State Warriors, it was still a very successful first season for Ime Udoka as head coach.
This offseason, Boston should be on the lookout for some help in the backcourt if anything. Finding another ball handler capable of running the offense would be ideal, as they have been linked to a few veterans, such as Ricky Rubio, in free agency.
Malcolm Brogdon would fit the bill of what the Boston Celtics are looking for. Payton Pritchard wasn’t bad by any means in the postseason, but Brogdon would be an upgrade over him. The size that Brogdon brings to the table compared to Pritchard would make Boston that much tougher to score on, as Pritchard was targeted at times in the postseason.
Brogdon’s size enables him to play some minutes on the wing as well, which could help get Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown some rest. The Celtics didn’t really have a backup wing that was used consistently during the playoffs, as Grant Williams, Derrick White, Daniel Theis and Pritchard made up Boston’s second unit.

Capable of filling numerous roles on both ends of the court, Brogdon is a sensible target for the Boston Celtics as long as the price isn’t too high.
