Timberwolves’ Taurean Prince To Sign 2-Year Contract Extension

The 2022 NBA free agency class was already expected to be a pretty shallow pool of talent with a few intriguing big fish possibly set to be available. As it turns out, the “pickens” will be even slimmer than originally anticipated.

Most of the headliners are expected to return to their own teams. James Harden is set to re-sign with the Philadelphia 76ers on a team-friendly deal that will allow Team President Daryl Morey to upgrade the roster along the margins.

Any squads looking to add a two-way wing this offseason for a relatively affordable price will have to cross Taurean Prince’s name off of their target list. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the former Baylor Bear is expected to re-up with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Prince had a decent season off of the bench for the T-Wolves last year, averaging 7.3 points and 2.5 rebounds while shooting over 37 percent from beyond the arc in 17 minutes per game. He’s proven to be an apt defender who can guard multiple positions and fits into the NBA’s most coveted archetype.

Extending Taurean Prince is a prudent move by the Minnesota Timberwolves who will surely be able to get good value in a trade if the two parties do need to part ways.
