Of every trade in this piece, this one might be the best-case scenario for the Sacramento Kings. It’s also likely the least realistic.
Still, we’re not willing to deem it impossible. If the rumors surrounding OG Anunoby’s discontent with the Toronto Raptors have any truth, the team may be desperate to move on from the 3-and-D wing.
In that event, this would be a solid return for the Raptors. Horton-Tucker fits their current philosophy of stacking ball-handling wings. They also have a functional need for a big man like Holmes. Most importantly though, they’re receiving two first-round picks in exchange for Anunoby.
Meanwhile, the Lakers make a strong win-now move by upgrading Horton-Tucker and Nunn into Barnes.
