Well, Collin Sexton has exactly that. When he was last healthy in 2020-21, he averaged 24.3 efficient points per game as a Cleveland Cavalier. Now, he’s set to hit restricted free agency.

The Mavericks should pursue him at all costs if they lose Brunson. With Doncic stirring the drink, defenses will struggle to contain as potent a scoring threat as Collin Sexton. He’ll be attacking defenses that Doncic has already scrambled for him, and relieving Doncic’s load by generating his own baskets in isolation.
