Every summer, the NBA draft provides some clarity about the direction of most of the NBA’s teams. This year was no exception.

One team that gained considerable clarity was the Detroit Pistons. Landing Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren in a draft where they only had the 5th overall pick was nothing short of sorcery.

Prior to the draft, they were widely expected to pursue Suns big man Deandre Ayton. We would assume that pursuit is dead in its tracks.

The Pistons will likely try to groom Duren into their center of the future.

On the other hand, the draft provided little clarity for the Suns. They didn’t have a selection. It’s still entirely unclear what might happen between this organization and their beleaguered Restricted Free Agent this summer.
