New York Knicks Receive: G D’Angelo Russell
Minnesota Timberwolves Receive: F Julius Randle
The New York Knicks could stand to upgrade at the point guard position. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves could use a boost to their frontcourt. Is there a deal to make here?
Granted, Randle isn’t precisely the player the Timberwolves seem to have in mind. Recent rumors suggest that they’re looking for a rim-protecting big man in the mold of Rudy Gobert or Clint Capela. Presumably, they’d shift Karl Anthony-Towns to the four.
That would be a suitable course of action. Towns is an outstanding offensive player, but he’s weak on the opposite end of the floor. On the other hand, what if the Minnesota Timberwolves opted to double down on offense?
Towns, Randle and Anthony Edwards would be one of the most talented trios in the league on that end. Granted, Randle’s 2021-22 season was a struggle.

With that said, the floor space that Towns would open up for him should improve his game. His three-point percentage would lose importance, and his drive-and-kick game would be maximized.
Sure, the Minnesota Timberwolves would struggle to stop anybody. Having said that, everybody would struggle to stop them either.
