The Charlotte Hornets may have the most obvious positional need in the NBA. This team is desperate for a big man.

It just so happens that Myles Turner may be on the trade market. If those rumors hold true, he’s probably the best one who’ll find himself available this summer. This feels like a perfect marriage.

Realistically, Turner should be a great fit for any team in need of a starting center. He’s one of the few true 3-and-D big men in the NBA. He’ll space the floor for LaMelo Ball in halfcourt sets, and protect the paint on the other end of the floor.

The former quality will be critical if the Hornets hope to maintain their impressive offensive output from 2021-22. Meanwhile, the latter quality will be key to improving on what was a shoddy defense.

In other words, Turner maintains this team’s floor while raising its ceiling. The Hornets would be foolish not to make this offer, and the Pacers may very well accept it.
