While there is still NBA action going on, we are not too far away from the draft. In just a few short weeks, the next wave of talent will be finding a new home. This class has mainly gotten attention up at the top, but there are still some interesting prospects scattered throughout.

One team looking to add more young talent to the pipeline is the Indiana Pacers. After trading away key players like Domontas Sabonis and Caris LeVert at the trade deadline, they appear to be heading towards a rebuild.

The Indiana Pacers may already have the next pillars of the franchise in Tyrese Haliburton and Chris Duarte but will be eyeing to add another promising piece to the mix.

Armed with the sixth overall pick in the draft, Indiana will have a handful of options once they are on the clock. Recent mock drafts suggest they could select Wisconsin guard Johnny Davis.

“Davis makes a lot of sense for Indiana as a proven scorer and defender, and an intense competitor and worker who vibes with what the Pacers have historically valued in draft picks. He boasts an unusually adept mid-range touch that teams hope will lead to more consistency from deep, and his rapid development points to even more room for growth. “

Davis is a six-foot-five guard who is entering the draft after a stellar sophomore campaign. In 31 games, he averaged 19.7 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.2 steals. One area that will need work at the next level is his three-point shooting. Davis is a willing shooter from beyond the arc but only converted 30.6% of his attempts this season.

Even though they already have a pair of guards for the future, Davis can still be a piece for Indiana. Given his ability to score in bunches, he makes sense alongside a pass-first point guard in Tyrese Haliburton.
