Making the Case: Brooklyn Nets
It would be challenging to envision the Brooklyn Nets moving on from Kyrie Irving given the potential implications it could have with Kevin Durant’s perception of the franchise.
However, the Nets tried to be patient with Irving throughout the 2021-22 season and the two sides do not necessarily seem to see eye-to-eye. Brooklyn is reluctant to offer him a long-term contract extension and with that being the case, a trade makes sense.
While it can be challenging to remember how long Irving has been a member of the Nets organization since he’s only appeared in 103 regular seasons in three seasons, it’s concerning there is even slight hesitation to reach an agreement on a deal.
The Nets do not have a lot of options when it comes to trading Irving due to other NBA organizations also being hesitant to invest much to acquire him.
