Memphis Grizzlies
Once again, we’re pairing Kevin Durant with one of the most electrifying young playmakers in the NBA. In all likelihood, he’ll refuse to play anywhere that doesn’t have a ready-made co-star.
After all, at 33, Durant doesn’t have a moment to waste. Joining a team where he’s the only elite offensive option will necessitate a season or two of re-working the roster. That won’t be necessary if he joins Ja Morant on the Memphis Grizzlies.
The two would make for a dynamic pair for the Grizzlies. Like Luka Doncic, Morant already draws substantial defensive attention on his relentless attacks on the rim. Having the best 7-foot-tall shooter in the history of the league (with all due respect to Dirk Nowitzki) spacing the floor for him would make him all the more devastating.
Unlike the Dallas Mavericks, the Memphis Grizzlies have ample draft capital and exciting young players. Would the Brooklyn Nets be interested in something built around Jaren Jackson Jr.? Or, would they opt for Ziare Williams and a bevy of first-round picks?
