Tyus Jones
Tyus Jones offers all of the same strengths that Ricky Rubio does but in a slightly different manner. Jones’s has been a requisite “game manager” since entering the NBA.
He’s been tasked with running the bench for a young Minnesota Timberwolves squad and a budding Memphis Grizzlies group. In both spots, he showed a control of the game beyond his years and was nearly always a success when he was on the floor.
Now, he might be ready to demand more responsibility. While there are probably teams willing to offer the young point guard more money, the Celtics would be able to ensure that Tyus Jones lands a starting job on a title contender. Not many other teams can match that offer.
Jones isn’t as flashy or creative with the rock in his hands as Rubio, but he’s much more reliable as a shooter and has been far healthier throughout his career.

Like Ricky Rubio, Tyus Jones is an excellent floor general, pick-and-roll ball-handler, and point-of-attack defender. He’d be able to slide right into the Celtics’ starting lineup and run the show.
