Indiana Pacers Receive: C Deandre Ayton, C Dario Saric, F Torrey Craig
Phoenix Suns Receive: C Myles Turner, G Malcolm Brogdon

If the Phoenix Suns are trading for Turner, it confirms something that’s already widely suspected to be true: They’re done with Deandre Ayton.

If that’s so, they’d do well to move Ayon in the same deal that has them acquiring Turner. Meanwhile, the Pacers are in something resembling a rebuilding state. Could they be interested in the 23-year-old big man?

That’s a complicated question for a couple of reasons. The first reason is the same reason the Suns may let Ayton walk. He’s a difficult player to put a value on. Sinking max money into a non-shooting big man may be inadvisable in 2022.

At the same time, Ayton is dominant in the traditional big man areas. His ability to switch may be a lynchpin for the rest of his career. As it stands, he can survive in space, but he doesn’t thrive there.
