Atlanta Hawks Receive: G/F Josh Hart, F Justise Winslow, 2022 First-Round Pick (7th Pick – POR)
Portland Trail Blazers Receive: F/C John Collins, 2022 First-Round Pick (16th Pick – ATL)
If the Atlanta Hawks are looking to split the difference between win-now maneuvering and future-focused management, then this trade ought to suit them.
In fact, it lands them a player type they’ve seemingly coveted for a while. Josh Hart is a stout perimeter defender who can help make up for Young’s shortcomings on that end of the floor.
Meanwhile, he’s a solid floor-spacer and strong positional rebounder as well.
He’s still not as good a player as John Collins. For the Blazers, this is strictly a win-now upgrade. In fact, Collins would arm them with arguably the best frontcourt player they’ve had in the Lillard era.

That doesn’t mean they’ll be happy to part with Hart. In all likelihood, the Blazers would strongly prefer to keep the wing in the process of adding Collins. That may be an achievable goal.
It will simply require the presence of a third team.
