Indiana Pacers Receive: G Spencer Dinwiddie, G Tim Hardaway Jr., 2024 First-Round Pick (DAL), 2025 First-Round Pick (Swap – DAL)
Los Angeles Lakers Receive: G Buddy Hield, C Myles Turner
Dallas Mavericks Receive: C/F Anthony Davis
We’ve flirted with versions of this deal before. It just makes too much sense not to reiterate.
Myles Turner is the perfect center to pair with Russell Westbrook. He’s a career 34.9% three-point shooter who also protects the rim at a high level. Assuming the Lakers can’t find a deal for Westbrook that improves them in 2022-23, finding a center who maximizes his ability could be critical.
Meanwhile, the Lakers right the wrongs of their past by acquiring Buddy Hield. They were so close to doing so last summer that the news officially broke, only to later be retracted. He offers the kind of elite floor spacing that both Westbrook and LeBron James need to thrive.
The Pacers part with both because they’re in the early stages of a rebuild. A first-round pick and a swap is good value for them at this stage.
