Portland Trail Blazers Receive: F Jerami Grant, 2022 First-Round Pick (No. 12 – OKC)
Oklahoma City Thunder Receive: G Eric Bledsoe, 2022 First-Round Pick (No. 5 – DET), 2022 First-Round Pick (No. 7 – POR), 2025 First-Round Pick (DET), 2027 First-Round Pick (DET)
Detroit Pistons Receive: G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
This feels more like a Sam Presti trade.
We know the Oklahoma City Thunder’s general manager loves the draft. This trade would have his Thunder choosing second, fourth and seventh between this year’s crop of incoming talent.
Without having done the research, we’re willing to bet that would be unprecedented. At the same time, we know Presti has an unprecedented amount of draft capital. He may use it to do things we’ve never seen before.
In a world where the Thunder were willing to part with Gilgeous-Alexander, this deal makes a lot of sense. It’s hard to imagine why either the Detroit Pistons or Portland Trail Blazers, given their interests, would decline.
