There are several intriguing prospects that will hear their name called next week at the 2022 NBA Draft. One of them is guard, Dyson Daniels, who spent last season with the G League Ignite and is beginning to move up draft boards.
A lot of analysts and player rankings have Daniels in the late lottery range, ranked in the early 10s. However, there has been some discussion of him going as high as No. 7, which is the pick currently owned by the Portland Trail Blazers.
There is a lot to like about his game. He has the size to be disruptive on defense with the ability to match up with multiple positions. Daniels puts in the work to learn the game but is also a tireless worker who is always hustling.
If he can refine his jump shot, as he struggled shooting 3-pointers and free throws, his game would be taken to the next level. His feel as a playmaker is already at a high level, he just needs the jump shot to go with it.

In need of some defensive-minded players, Daniels would fit in well in Sacramento given his versatility on that end of the court. Coincidentally, some people have likened him to Tyrese Haliburton, whom the King traded to the Indiana Pacers last season in the Domantas Sabonis deal.
The Spurs are an excellent landing spot for any prospect given how well they develop players of all skill sets. They know how to get the most out of a player, putting him in situations to play to his strengths early on while developing and rounding out the rest of his game.
